Marieke Verhagen
Chief Learning Officer of Transition Academy at DRIFT
Background
Leading DRIFT’s education offer, Marieke focuses on accessibility, participants’ connectivity and multiple ways of teaching & learning (beyond ‘cognitive’). Offering tools and contributing to the awareness that in all our diversity we are all one and are better for acting like that as well. Marieke creates a safe (online) space for people with multifaceted backgrounds, unknown to each other, to learn from each other and about themselves in order to shape a more socially sustainable and peaceful world together. Starting in 2007 using complex systems as a door to open people's mind, she turned into an experienced researcher, teacher, organiser, facilitator and coach in sustainability transitions and complex systems.
At the School of System Change
Marieke is a facilitator on Basecamp in Europe and contributes to other courses to introduce sustainability transitions, and transitions management.
"What excites me most is letting people experience that it is possible to organise their/our world and live their lives differently. It fills me with joy to facilitate the process and to witness people really 'grokking' this: embodying another way of relating to themselves and their environment."
